My Story

My name is Abbie Overmyer and I discovered my love of photography in college. I graduated from Indiana State University in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Communications and found that my photography courses were my favorite. I started out by using my college softball teammates as practice models for class projects and loved every minute behind the camera. My sister and her now husband were the first seniors that I ever captured in 2015 and now I really enjoy getting to know each senior and representing their likes and interests through my lens. I branched out into family sessions & maternity and in 2018 a few close friends trusted me to capture their wedding! I have been working weddings ever since and enjoy the process of getting to know a couple through engagement sessions and into their big day! Once I was able to flip an old office into a studio with the help of my husband's family, I have been capturing newborn photos and their families.

I have two young daughters and my husband is a farmer, we have been married for 7 years. I do have access to quite a few lovely landscape locations because of his specialty in farming and the areas around our home. My Dad is also a farmer and that farm is actually the reason behind the name- the Indian Creek, located south of Star City Indiana, runs through my families' farm was the inspiration behind my business name. It also happens to be the spot that my husband proposed to me a few years later. I love what I do and would love to meet you, your family and hear your story to capture through my lens!
